Kupala Night is a 2d animation short film about a young girl in Poland going to a summer solstice event to find love. The clumsy events interfere with her goal. How will it end?

My main goal for this short film is to show the forgotten Slavic culture of Poland. The film is stylized based on the old traditional art and costumes. It is full of legendary creatures, from small and cute to large and scary.

 

Film created during studies at Academy of Art University.

For speed and flexibility, I decided to make characters as puppet rigs in Toon Boom Harmony. Here is a video presenting the main character rig.
